Because the mouse is faster and more accurate with less work. Fast and accurate is what you need in a FPS no matter how much strategy it requires. You'll always have to shoot something.

I thought this was settled with Shadowrun. The game had to be heavily gimped to account for how much faster a PC player could aim with his mouse than a 360 player with his controller.

"I thought Reach was the last one????"

What Ironfist said.

MS already has an interior studio set up to take over Halo after Bungie stops making them.

@Jinx: I agree. Could go a lot of different directions. People think Halo has to be FPS. There will always be those core Halo games that are FPS, but it could branch different into different styles like Star Wars does with Battlefront and KOTOR and TFU. Hopefully a little better than TFU.

"Square Enix told us that the Famitsu advertisements - which advertise what looks like two separate Nier games - "do not affect the North American version". Hmm."

So basically, it sounds as if we're never seeing Replicant over here. I'm guessing we'll get Gestalt on both platforms as planned, but no Replicant at all.

I wonder if they have different plans for EU since they mentioned NA specifically.

@Dead: You know those are good points, but I don't think it's giving MS enough credit to assume it escaped their attentions.

Some of the more obvious things like needing a large TV or a huge room to play in... If they haven't considered these things at all I'll be surprised.

Yeah, I feel like they do that a lot with Playstation. It's actually a reason I LIKE playing on their console. They rarely if ever make you feel like you're missing out if you don't have the latest greatest.

Also, I meant "their track record" in that quoted sentence. Late nights/early mornings :/

MS are willing to treat Natal like the next iteration of 360. They're pretty much aiming to make it seem like an indispensable feature of the "Xbox experience" or w/e buzz words they choose. All signs point to Natal being in MS's perception, "the next big thing". Not a guarantee of success, but it's the right marketing for it if you want widespread adoption, I think.

Dunno about Sony. They've been quiet mostly. I'd say given they're track record, they're prepa...

I don't get it. Natal is accused of being an Eye Toy rip, but if that's true, wouldn't the tech be much easier to program for since its supposedly been out for years? Not harder?

And if Natal really is harder to program, won't we see better Natal games later just like we've seen PS3 games improve as devs become more familiar with the workings?

Uh, [PROTOTYPE] has the protagonist make use of a virus as a core component of gameplay... It grants the player the ability to absorb other people's skill sets. The Crackdown franchise's plot and gameplay are absolutely nothing like that...

Then again I guess it doesn't surprise me that Uwe Boll knows so little about the plot, eh?

No, but the title very specifically says top ten PS3 boss battles.

A lot of people going to far these days. I hear it's nice this time of year.

I agree, it's pretty class for Valve to extend the invitation. I'm not so sure they flew the guys in themselves (I don't see it in the post), but Valve are treating them with legitimacy even if they think the fans' claims are overblown. They could just as easily have said "eff you guys", but they let the disgruntled fans send some "ambassadors".

It really speaks to the fact that Valve cares about retaining their loyal fanbase. Pretty good dedication.

"Everything he said should be common sense and parenting 101."

I almost pity that you think everyone has that kind of common sense. I would say the results don't speak to that. Poor national test averages, poor literacy rates, and high unemployment aren't signs that we know enough to ignore good advice about our future as a nation.

And another thing... Giving advice is not the same as legislating it. None of this stuff he's talking about is mandated as pol...

I think your disagrees tell a different story.

@Darth

I think they did plenty wrong. But true, they did a LOT right. The modem was ahead of it's time and the VMU is a gaming masterpiece. I felt like it made up for how Sony never ported the Pocketstation. You could trade games with people without a console present...or play minigames on the VMU. And some games took advantage of the ext...

I think it's consoles that need something like this, not so much PC.

It looks better than default, but they have no business associating the visuals with Crysis. There's no contest whatsoever.

It's an ongoing case, actually. Since 2007.

Why is the president there? As far as I know he is not attacking games. Everyone else on the list has made it their outspoken mission to censor entertainment, including games. Advising some kids to play less and study more is hardly "games are evil so let's censor them". This is not btw an invitation to debate politics.

I am flabbergasted that some choose to frame FO3 as a poor shooter instead of what it really is, a decent RPG.

Will people be saying the same thing when End of Eternity/Resonance of Fate when it comes out? This 'shooter' sucks?

If that's how shooter fans choose to view it, I'd rather RPG devs go back to the tried and true medieval formula instead of trying to meet halfway.

But console gamers don't want to use keyboard and mouse and not everyone has one. It's not really an optimal solution.
